Imagine walking around the encampment at Camp Liberty when you hear the engine of a historic aircraft approaching. You look up and see a Second World War aeroplane. You expect it to fly overhead and disappear into the distance.
But what if, this time, it actually lands close to the encampment? A little later, you could see it up close, discover what it was used for during the war and meet the people who keep these remarkable aircraft flying.
A dream scenario? Perhaps. But we’re working seriously towards making it happen!
Together with Vliegend Museum Seppe, we are exploring the possibilities for Camp Liberty Airfield: a temporary airfield with a Second World War atmosphere, where historic aircraft could land and take off during the event.

The initial plans are on the table and applications for the necessary permits are underway. However, there are still some significant challenges to overcome in terms of permissions, safety, and technical and practical feasibility.
So, it is far from certain that Camp Liberty Airfield will actually become a reality in 2027. There is still a lot to be done, but the ambition is there and the first steps have been taken!
